Ayyanna Patrudu Submits Evidence To SIT

TDP Minister reiterates that his own party members are involved in the land scam. He says the Chief Minister has assured that action will be taken against the culprits.

Visakhapatnam: Minister for Roads and Buildings Ch Ayyanna Patrudu has once again been vocal with his allegation that his own party members are involved in the land scam in Visakhapatnam district.

After presenting evidence to the Special Investigation Team (SIT)A�on Friday on defacing of records that reportedly occurred in the district, the Minister told media that culprits would be brought to book even if they belonged to his own party. Such an assurance was made by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu himself in his (Patrudua��s) presence.

The Minister disclosed that he had submitted documentary evidence on instances of tampering with records pertaining to about 1,600 to 1,700 acres of land, besides sharing some information, which would require further documentary evidence.

He said he was collecting evidence in support of the fact that loans were taken from banks by mortgaging the records of government lands and roads. a�?Already some banks have revealed the matter. About Rs. 190 crore of loans have been taken through such mortgage,a�? he alleged. a�?I will personally meet the SIT again onA�July 19. I have sought permission for the same,a�? he stated.

The Minister said: a�?I complained to the Chief Minister, Minister for Revenue Services and Finance Minister in 2014 itself. Now, the issue has come out into the open fully,a�? he remarked.

Ayyanna Patrudu has alleged that irregularities that took place were in acquisition of lands for Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone Limited at Nadupuru. Expressing shock at payment of compensation to occupiers of assigned lands from the government exchequer, he said compensation was paid to those, who did not own the land, at a rate of a�? 1 lakh an acre for a stretch of 276 acres of land.

a�?I had brought the issue to the notice of the District Collector by writing to him. But the Collector did not take care of it,a�? he charged.
