Minister’s tips to stay healthy
Hyderabad: On the occasion of World Arthritis Day on Sunday, Telangana Health Minister Dr Cherlakola Lakshma Reddy exhorted the people to keep at bay their health problems through awareness and regular walk and physical exercise.
The minister participated in a walk with private hospitals’ staff, doctors, professors, students and people at Peoples Plaza on the Necklace Road to mark World Arthritis Day.
The minister said people could remain healthy through regular exercise, healthy food and awareness programmes. The State Government will support such initiatives to help people overcome their health problems, he said.
Expressing concern over the growing health problems like joint pains, knee pains and arthritis problems, the minister said early detection of the problem would help patients avoid the disease.
Lakshma Reddy said the state government was taking all steps to equip the government hospitals with adequate staff, equipment and medicines to provide complete healthcare. He vowed to appoint more arthritis doctors and other staff in the hospitals. Efforts are being made to create confidence among the people through complete healthcare facilities with latest equipment in the government- run hospitals, he said.
An awareness program conducted in the Agency areas on dengue, malaria and other contagious and viral diseases through Sanskritika Ratha Sarathi yielded good results and people received better healthcare, the minister claimed. “Our intention is to provide healthcare to people at their doorsteps, he added.
