Assembly session a family affair: Revanth
Hyderabad: TTDP working president A Revanth Reddy has likened speeches given by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, his son KTR and nephew Harish Rao in the just concluded winter session of State Assembly to mono acting.
Speaking to the media along with Sathupally MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah here on Thursday, Revanth Reddy alleged that the ruling party members spoke for 54 hours out of 94 hours during Assembly discussions. The ministers from KCR family — KCR, KTR and Harish Rao — had spoken 30 hours out of 54 hours. Revanth alleged that the ministers Mahamood Ali, Thummala Nageswararao, A indrakaran Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Reddy, Jupally Krishna Rao and Jogu Ramanna remained spectators as their chance had taken by the KCR family members in the Assembly.
Congress MLA and former minister DK Aruna has opined that the winter session left the people of the State unhappy. Speaking to the media, Aruna alleged that the Assembly virtually turned into a forum for TRS party. She also alleged that the ruling party wasted the precious time of the House with its magic words and suppressed the voice of the opposition parties with its numerical strength in the Assembly.
Another Congress leader MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy said the State government failed to instill confidence among the people though it conducted the Assembly for 18 days. It was atrocious on the part of the government not to give permission to the adjournment motion in the 18- day winter session.
But TRS member of Legislative Council, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, said that the session was conducted in a peaceful manner and discussed many issues of people. He took exception to Telugu Desam member Revanth Reddy for talking against the government to be in the good books of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. -NSS
