Assembly adjourned sine die; TRS, Congress hail winter session as ‘constructive’
Hyderabad: Telangana Legislative Assembly Affairs Minister T Harish Rao said on Wednesday the winter session was conducted in an efficient manner. Talking to media persons at TRSLP after the House was adjourned sine die, he stated that the House conducted a meaningful debate on problems of people.
For the first time in the history, the Assembly session held discussions in a proper way, Harish Rao said. During 18 days of the session, 15 issues were discussed and 16 Bills were passed in the House, Harish Rao said. The minister expressed happiness that the opposition members appreciated the way business in the House was conducted. He also said that the Assembly had prolonged debate on fishermen, Muslims’ welfare and other issues. Our focus is on welfare and development and the government is for meaningful debate on the issues, Harish added.
Meanwhile, leader of the opposition K Jana Reddy said Congress played a constructive role in the winter session of the Assembly by pulling up the TRS government on public issues. He said the Congress members accosted the TRS government on its “ant-democratic” activities and its assurances. The Congress, played its role in a democratic manner, he stressed. -NSS
