Hyderabad: Ensure fair and unhindered investigation into the death of Manthani Madhukar, demanded a team from Centre for Dalit Studies (CDS), Hyderabad demanded the Home Minister on Thursday. A team comprising educationist and ex MLC Chukkar Ramaiah, senior journalist Mallepalli Laxmaiah, prof. Rama Melkote, Athaluri Aruna, Dr. Lalitha Rajan, Dr. Ravi Gurajala and V. Prathik met Home Minister N. Narasimha Reddy and urged him to order a repost-mortem to the victimas corpse by independent doctors in the presence of a sitting High Court Judge, forensic experts and social activists. CDS demanded the arrest of the culprits to ensure fair investigation in the interest of social justice and good conscience.
Meanwhile, the High Court has accepted the demand for repost mortem and ordered the government to conduct repost mortem to his body in the presence of his family and submit the report in a sealed cover to the court. The government immediately responded to the orders and issued instructions to send forensic experts to Karimnagar immediately.
It is a known fact that Madhukar who belonged to Madiga community went missing from March 13th. He was in love with a girl from Munnuru Kapu community. Madhukar who went to visit her in a hospital never returned home. His family anxiously searched for him but invain. It is alleged that he was beaten up mercilessly at Sirishaas home and the bruises were found on his body.
The family finally found the body of Madhukar on 14th evening in a deserted place. The police who rushed to the spot immediately performed panchanama even before villagers reached the location. The police threatened Madhukaras family to make them believe itas a suicide.
CDS believes that his death is neither an accident nor a suicide and is a planned murder. Though an Fire was filed, there are enough circumstantial evidences and scope to support that Madhukaras death is murder and not an accident or suicide. The police who are supposed to register the case accordingly recklessly recorded it as a case of suspicious death. No arrest has been made nor investigation done
