AP Staff to work from Amaravati from October 1
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Government has directed all its employees to report at Amaravati by September 19 and complete relocation by end of September. From October 1, all the government departments will be run from interim government complex at Velagapudi village, Amaravati. Already, staff of 15 departments of Andhra Pradesh government have shifted to Velagapudi.
U Murali Krishna, AP Secretariat Employee’s Association President, said that already 50% of the employees have shifted to Vijayawada and Guntur and the remaining will be shifting by end of this September. Official statistics also show that around 7,200 employees have already shifted and are reporting at their office in Vijayawada and Guntur. Another 5,000 employees are expected to report from 19th September.
AP state government employees were asked to avail travel advance facility and the government granted one week leave to all the employees who report at Velagapudi on September 19.
S P Tucker, AP Chief Secretary, directed all department heads to personally scrutinize cases of all the employees who requested to stay back in Hyderabad for medical reasons. He also issued orders to all departments to keep one or two officials in Hyderabad to attend to court and tribunal cases.
Earlier, the plan was to shift the administration from Hyderabad by June 2, but the process got delayed due to Krishna Pushkaram and various other reasons. The heavy rains and redesigning of CM’s office chambers as per vaastu delayed the construction of the interim government complex.
