AP Police Say Pulla Rao Lands Don’t Belong To AgriGold
Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh police on Saturday declared that the allegations against Minister for Agriculture Prathipati Pulla Rao on purchasing AgriGold lands are far from truth.
Speaking to media persons DGP N Sambasiva Rao and CID DG Dwaraka Tirumala Rao said that the lands purchased by the Minister did not belong to the AgriGold. They said that the case was registered against the AgriGold in December 2014 and attached properties in just 47 days. They said that the attachment of lands continued till January 2017. The police have so far attached 21,709 acres of land and 86,555 square yards of plots so far. The value of the attached properties was estimated at Rs 2,500 crore, they said.
The police further said that they have registered cases against 19 persons including its chairman who is serving his jail period for the past one year. The department had so far arrested 7 persons, they said and added that 12 more are yet to be arrested. The CID investigation is going on as per the directions of the High Court, they said.
The police officials said that they were trying to auction the attached properties of the AgriGold to pay compensation to the victims. They said that they were trying to help the victims under the guidance of the High Court.
