AP flays TS on NSP waters
- Stoppage of irrigation water to Krishna Delta deliberate
- Uma condemns the remarks by Harish Rao
- Let us talk and sort out, suggests Uma
Hyderabad, January 25: The Andhra Pradesh State Government on Saturday accused Telangana government of adopting retaliatory tactics and deliberately stopped release of irrigation waters to Krishna Delta.
Talking to mediapersons here on Saturday, Irrigation Minister D Uma Maheswar Rao condemned the comments made by his Telangana counterpart T Harish Rao that Andhra Pradesh Government has encroached upon the Nagarjuna Sagar Project. “Harish Rao’s comments are totally baseless”, he said. He expressed concern that farmers under the delta are facing acute irrigation water problem for a month. “Vengeance of the Telangana Government was leading to compound the problems of farmers in our State”, he deplored.
Stating the three regions are equal and there was no disparity among anyone, he suggested to Harish Rao to sit across the table to sort out any issues to find an amicable decision on irrigation waters. “Both the AP Government as well as our farmers are bearing the brunt”, he deplored. Instead of provoking farmers and irresponsible talk, Harish Rao should understand our problem and release the waters to our farmers, he said. (NSS)
