AP CM orders development of tribal areas
- Mineral water, nutritious food to every household
Hyderabad: A�Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has ordered supply of mineral water to every household in the tribal areas. His order, issued on Thursday, is aimed at faster development of tribal areas and tribal communities and to improve their health standards and nutrition requirements.
The chief minister said a special drive will be taken up to provide safe drinking water, distribution of nutritious food, health and education facilities and improving road connectivity. He also called for robust broadband connectivity in rural areas for which he asked the officials to make use of funds from Rs 50 to Rs 100 crores.
Chandrababu Naidu said awareness must be spread among the tribal people on the usage of cell phones and a plan should be launched to increase interaction between various tribes and people living outside their communities. He asked the officials to work out a plan where the services of DWCRA groups can be utilised in the distribution of clean drinking water and nutritious food.
To prevent malaria in tribal areas, Chandrababu directed the officials to plant Citronella grass and other varieties to control mosquito growth. He called for immediate filling of vacant posts in all the health centres in the tribal-dominated districts and asked the officials to conduct walk-in interviews for the same.
The chief minister said special incentives would be provided to doctors and specialists, who work in the agency areas and there was a need to improve the motivation levels among them.
