AP bags National Awards in Energy Efficiency, Solar power
Amaravati: In an yet another significant development in achieving series of prestigious awards and citations in the fields of energy efficiency and renewable energy in Andhra Pradesh, the Indian Smart Grid Forum (ISGF), New Delhi has conferred “Appreciation Award for Best Energy Efficiency Program of the Year 2016” and “Best state for sustainability of solar power” to the State
The event was being organized as part of the India Smart Grid Week (ISGW 2017), an International Conference and Exhibition on Smart Grids and Smart Cities scheduled from 07 – 10 March 2017 at Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, India. Both in public and private sectors several national and international organisations / utilities /experts have participated in the above programme.
On this occasion, Japan’s New Energy and Industrial Technology Development organisation executive director, Makoto Watanabe, presented the coveted award to A Chandra Sekhara Reddy, Chief Executive Officer/APSECM, on behalf of Ajay Jain, Principal Secretary, Energy. The solar award was received by Kamalakar babu, MD/NREDCAP from R N Sen, Chairman/West Bengal State Electricity Regulatory Commission during the above programme. The ISGF is a prestigious national level body, a Public Private Partnership initiative of the Central government for accelerated development of smart grid technology including energy efficiency and renewable energy sources in the Indian power sector.
“The national and international awards and recognition received in the emerging field of Energy efficiency and Renewable Energy (RE) are the testimonials of the commitment of the government towards green and blue development with reduced carbon foot print. So far we are leading in the country, but I am not satisfied, my main goal is to be one of the best State in the entire World in promotion of energy efficient and energy conservation (EE & EC) measures and RE, whatever the best practises available around the globe, be implemented in AP. Our ultimate goal is to benefit common electricity consumer with reduced electricity bill and make him a partner in the global mission protection of environment for human survival” said Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu, while thanking Piyush Goyal who had congratulated him on this occasion over telephone for his contribution to make AP No1 in the Country even in the Power Sector.
While disclosing the above details Sri Ajay Jain has thanked ISGF for extending support to AP Power Sector, and said that, the above National Awards have increased the responsibility of AP in achieving much more milestones in power Sector.
In a special Message, Piyush Goyal has appreciated AP efforts in the areas of optimisation of generation capacity, maintaining of highest plant load factor even surpassing the NTPC record, reduction of transmission and distribution losses achieving single digit in losses, adopting latest IT initiatives in consumer services, promotion of renewable energy.
