Anil Kumble Bids Bye To Team India As Coach

Indian cricket coach Anil Kumble has resigned on Tuesday.

New Delhi: Former leg spinner, Indian team Coach Anil kumble stepped down as coach just before India tour of West Indies T 20 starts on June 23rd.

There was a rift between Indian Captain Virat Kohli and coach Kumble prior to ICC Trophy and finally BCCI has bent under the pressure mounted by Virat.

BCCI did not show any interest to extend contract of Kumble and invited fresh applications for the post.

Once the applications were received, the Advisory Committee of Indian cricket comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Saurav Ganguly and Lakshman will conduct interviews of the applicants.

Indian team will leave for West Indies without any coach for the first time. Kumble’s performance as Coach saw a good results in previous year with India winning 10 out of 13 tests, losing only one match.

India also won One Day series against New Zealand and T-20 series against England. Only the final in ICC trophy against Pakistan was a disaster. Exact reason for the rift between kohli and Kumble is not known. Kumble, the gentleman cricketer though it is time he left the scene in as dignified manner.
