Anakapalli MLA Accused of Land Grab

Two women have charged Anakapalli MLA, Govinda Satyanarayana, of trying to grab their land. They have filed a case against the MLA with the Vizag Police Commissioner.

Visakhapatnam: Two women have on Friday filed a case against Anakapalli TDP MLA, Govinda Satyanarayana, for harassing them and trying to grab their land.

One of the two, Adambi, who runs a small business at Pendurthi junction, had taken a loan of Rs. 2 lakh from a local financier in 2015. She has now charged the financier of forging documents and trying to grab her house, apart from a plot, with the help of the MLA. The plot and the house are in Survey No. 234/5B.

Adambi has alleged that she and her cousin were picked up by a gang owing allegiance to the MLA and beaten up severely. When contacted, police said they are investigating into the matter.

It may be recalled that there was a sensational land scam involving about 1,000 acres near Madhurwada and Kommadi areas of Vizag, with alleged tampering of records. The State Government has ordered an enquiry by a Special Investigation Team (SIT), but the Opposition YSRCP is demanding a CBI probe into the issue.

YSRCP has alleged that TDP leaders, including ministers, are involved in grabbing of lands in and around Vizag in what the party called “one of the biggest land scams of the country:”
