Hyderabad: Governor ESL Narasimhan and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao have expressed heartfelt condolences over the demise of Dr Balamurali Krishna. In a statement, the Governor said on Tuesday: Balamurali Krishna is a legendary Indian Carnatic vocalist and composer and the country has lost a world renowned personality and the void will be difficult to fill. The Governor added, Balamurali’s life is an inspiration to new generation of musicians and following the path laid by him would be the greatest tribute.
In a message the Chief Minister noted that Balamurali Krishna has created his own chapter in the world of music. For decades, the music maestro enthralled the people with his rare sort of songs and keertans and introduced the greatness of Indian music to the world.
Dr Balamurali had created a special place for himself in the world of Carnatic music. He had enthralled the people with his unmatched voice for several decades. Perhaps, he was the last Vaggeyakara (singer-composer) of the modern age and lived like a true Emperor of Carnatic music. Balamurali had taken the melody of Carnatic music to all corners of the world. His demise has created a great void for the Carnatic genre of music. However, his vast collection of Carnatic music will continue to enthrall people and be a guiding spirit to the generations to come, the Chief Minister observed and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the members of Dr Balamurali Krishna’s family.
