Amit Shah Prefers To Be Party President Than Defence Minister
Lucknow: National President of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party at the Centre, Amit Shah, has maintained that he will not be leaving the party post even after he gets elected to the upper house.
Amit Shah’s assertion came amid speculations that he will be given the portfolio of Defence once he gets elected to the Rajya Sabha in the forthcoming elections from Gujarat for the Upper House. A powerful leader within BJP as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Union Government, Amit Shah clarified that he is happy doing party work with commitment.
The BJP leader, who is on a three-day visit to UP from Saturday, was speaking to media on Monday and answered many questions.
Rejecting the argument that BJP had broken the Mahagathbandhan, Amit Shah said that it was Nitish who resigned from the post of CM, as he did not want to continue with the corrupt. “Do you think we must to force him to continue”, he countered.
He expressed confidence that BJP will come to power with more strength in the next Lok Sabha elections scheduled in 2019.
Saying that Modi is undisputedly the most popular Prime Minister of the country, Amit Shah said the BJP Government had succeeded in ending the politics of family, caste and appeasement in the country.
