Amid Criticism, CM KCR’s Thanksgiving Continues
Hyderabad: With all the criticisms against him, Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao (KCR) donated Golden Moustache to Lord Veerabhadraswamy of Kuravi in Mahaboobabad district on Friday.
Opposition parties have flayed the chief minister for lavishly spending money from the public exchequer in the name of Thanksgiving. KCR, who has strong religious faith, presented gods with golden ornaments in respect of a vow for fulfilling his dream of Telangana Statehood.
Critics say that the fund should be from his pocket or party fund but not by misusing state exchequer- the Common Good Fund of Endowments (CGF) .
Congress leaders felt that it is against Constitutional norms and the vow was taken in his personal capacity and the people have nothing to do with it.
The CM has announced funds to develop mandala surrounding Kuravi. He said he had taken a pledge to donate golden moustaches to Veerabhadraswamy during the Telangana movement.
