Ambedkar Memorial in Amaravati

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh Government had cleared the Ambedkar Memorial that is set to come up at the new capital Amaravati. The government had issued orders allocating 20 acres of land for the project.

Minister for Social Welfare, Ravela Kishore Babu, said that the project would have a massive 125-foot statue of Dr BR Ambedkar with a library, convention center and yoga center. The project is estimated to cost Rs 97.69 crores and expected to be completed in two years from now.

The convention center proposed here would accommodate 3000 to 3500 people while the yoga center is planned to accommodate 200 to 300. The project would also have a music fountain, open air theatre and a beautiful park.

The minister said that the government would shortly begin the work as the necessary orders had been issued.
