Amarnath Attack: Gujarat CM Thanks Bus Driver For Saving 50 Lives

Rupani has thanked driver Saleem for saving 50 of the yatris in the bus despite militants raining a hail of bullets.

Surat: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Tuesday specially thanked bus driver Saleem, who saved the lives of 50 Amarnath yatris despite bullets raining on the bus. He also called on the pilgrims who were injured in the Amarnath militant attack.

Speaking to the media, Rupani said that Saleem would be nominated for the Bravery Award. He also announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakhs each to the families of deceased and Rs 2 lakhs for those injured.

Driver Saleem did not stop the bus even though there was a hail of bullets from both the sides of the road. He drove on the bus bravely, saving the lives of 50 pilgrims in the process.

Speaking later, Saleem thanked God for protecting and giving him strength at a crucial time.
