Amaravathi best capital : Naidu

GUNTUR: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said the world was shocked when he announced Amaravathi will be the capital city of the residuary AP State.

Speaking to media persons after inaugurating Spices Park at Vankayalapadu in Guntur district on Monday, the Chief Minister said “no force on the earth could do any harm to Andhra Pradesh State to the proposed new capital which has powerful ‘vaasthu’. He said he would construct a competitive capital city among the nations across the world and three cities will be constructed better than Hyderabad City.

Chandrababu Naidu pointed out that one can remember mirchi flavor when uttered the name of Guntur and suggested to the farmers to cultivate crops using state-of-the-art technology. The State and Central governments are jointly working for the welfare of farmers and they would extend support to the farmers till justice was done to all, he opined. He said the farmers have to develop in fast track by cultivating spicy crops and fruit gardens. No State in the world has natural resources like Andhra Pradesh and it has 974-km sea coast. He wanted to develop the State in such a position that it could export fish and prawns to nations across the world by increasing its development rate. Paddy yielding would also be increased by diverting water, which was going into the sea waste, he explained.

The Chief Minister said several nations were not willing to import agricultural products fearing that farmers were using chemical fertilizers and other harmful inputs. “We have to add science and technology to agriculture. I will visit agricultural fields and canals in the coming three months. Our intention is to make the agriculture sector as beneficial one”, he said.

Chandrababu Naidu said 65 percent of mirchi exports are from Guntur and there is need to increase agriculture-based industries in the State. The government would encourage mirchi cultivation in Guntur district. Andhra Pradesh State is moving forward as part of Swatch Bharath program.  He also said Johnson from Singapore was a person creating awareness on using lavatories across the world. The State government will set up a “Swatch Andhra Pradesh Advisory Committee” and appoint Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao as its convener and Johnson as co-convener. (NSS)
