Akhilesh Slighted Once Again
- SP family feud continues
Lucknow: Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav made it clear that the chief minister candidate would not be announced before elections and the elected MLAs would choose their CM. He was answering a question at media meet here on Friday. A media person asked if the incumbent CM Akhilesh Yadav would be continued or is there anybody in the reckoning. Akhilesh did not attend the press meet.
It may be recalled that there was a deep crisis in the extended family of Mulayam Singh Yadav recently when his younger brother Shiv Pal and son Akhilesh had developed differences threatening to divide the party. Mulayam had rushed to Lucknow from Delhi to douse the flames of internal differences. Mulayam taken away the post of the president of ruling party’s UP unit from Akhilesh and entrusted the responsibility to Shiv Pal. It gave raise to rumours suggesting a rift between the father and son. Mulayam then brokered a truce. Shiv Pal took back his resignation from party and government. It all ended happily. But today’s comment by Mulayam coupled with Akhilesh’s statement that he does not mind campaigning all alone in the forthcoming elections suggests that all is not well with the first political family of Uttar Pradesh.
