Akhila Priya elected unopposed

Kurnool, October 24: Bhuma Akhila Priya, YSRCP candidate, was declared elected unopposed from Allagadda assembly constituency in Kurnool district. The by-election was caused by the death Shobha Nagireddy, YSRCP candidate in the general elections held in May this year. Akhila is the daughter of Bhuma Nagireddy and Shobha Nagireddy. The ruling TDP did not put up candidate in this by-election returning the favour done by YSRCP by not contesting the Nandigama by-elections which was also caused by the death of the newly elected MLA. In both the places, the daughters of deceased leaders got elected to the assembly. Six independent candidates filed their nominations along with Akhila Priya. The returning officer had rejected the nomination papers of four of them and the rest two withdrew their nominations paving way for the election without contest. Akhila had obtained the declaration certificate from Tahsildar on Friday.
