Akbaruddin wants GHMC to expedite Charminar Pedestrian Project

Hyderabad: MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi met the GHMC Commissioner Dr B Janardhan Reddy along with a team and discussed the development of Hyderabad Old City on Friday. He urged the commissioner to complete the Charminar Pedestrian Project work as soon as possible and make the Charminar surroundings available to tourists.

He also asked the commissioner to shift the businessmen on to a special bridge to be constructed on Musi River opposite Salarjung Museum. Such step will help rehabilitate traders around Charminar, he said. Akbaruddin suggested a night bazaar on the new bridge, lengthening the Chandrayanagutta flyover and development of the Murgi Chowk and Clock Tower.

The MLA and the commissioner reviewed Metro Rail works at Old City also. Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy, GHMC, HMR senior officials participated in the meeting. -NSS
