Addl DSP questioned in Nayeem’s case
Hyderabad: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) that has been probing the atrocities committed by the slain gangster Nayeemuddin, alias Nayeem, is going to file a charge sheet in a day or two. The SIT members on Monday questioned former Additional SP of Chittor district, Ravinder Reddy, in connection with the land deals by Nayeem. Reddy had worked in Nalgonda district as a CI and DSP. He was DSP of Bhuvanagiri, the centre of Nayeem’s unlawful activities for more than two decades, during 1997-2000.
Ravinder Reddy was questioned at Narsingi police station in the city. The SIT has been questioning persons who figured in the depositions of Nayeem’s victims or in Nayeem’s diaries. SIT had questioned a number of police officials and politicians so far. It has not yet filed a charge sheet. Nayeem’s driver also was questioned by the officials on Monday.
Ravinder Reddy said he had enough lands at his native place in Rayala Seema and he had no need to help a criminal in land grabbing. He said he met Nayeem twice as part of discharging his responsibilities as a police official. He did not have any special relationship with the mafia don.
