ACB Raids on Revanth’s House
- Raids Revanth, Sebastian Harry and Uday Simha houses
HYDERABAD: Telangana Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Tuesday raided the residences of TDP MLA Revanth Reddy and his two accomplices in connection with the “Cash-for-Vote” scam.
The sleuths searched the houses of Revanth Reddy, Sebastian Harry and Uday Simha at different places in Hyderabad, simultaneously. Armed with a search warrant, some 10 to 15 ACB officials searched Revanth’s house at Jubliee Hills. They inspected documents relating to bank accounts, lands and passports.
Later, the sleuths raided Revanth’s other house, where they have recovered a few important documents and a hard disk. At the same time, the officials found cartons of imported liquor bottles in Harry’s house, which they seized.
Revanth, TDP MLA from Kodangal in Mahbubnagar district, was arrested by the ACB on May 31 when he offered 50-lakh rupees to a nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson to make him vote for TDP-BJP candidate in the elections to Telangana Legislative Council. ACB also arrested two aides in the trap laid on a complaint by Stephenson.
The ACB is also questioning them in regard to the complicity of any other political leaders in the scam. The case took a dramatic turn on Sunday when an audiotape of alleged telephonic conversation between Naidu and Stephenson aired in a TV channel. (NSS)
