Aamir Khan Received Award From RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat

Popular actor Aamir Khan, who generally keeps away from award functions, attended the Master Dinananth Mangeshkar Awards function and received the award from Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat. He attended the awards function after sixteen years.

New Delhi: Renowned actor Aamir Khan who attended an award ceremony for the first time in one and half decades, received ‘Visesh Puraskar’ from RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. He attended the Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Awards function on Monday. The superstar who generally keeps away from awards functions attended it as he could not refuse the invitation from legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar. He was honoured for his film ‘Dangal.’

The Dinanath Mangeshkar awards are given away to eminent personalities in various fields. It is the 75th death anniversary of Master Dinanath.

‘Dangal’ is the film made on wrestling legend Mahavir Phogat, who groomed champion daughters Geeta and Babita. Aamir Khan played the role of Mahavir phogat and the film was one of the big hits of 2016.

Responding to the honour, Aamir Khan credited his writers and directors who wrote and directed his film. He thanked all of them for giving him such big hits.

Cricketer Kapil Dev, veteran actress Vijayanti kumara Bali were also honoured.

The last awards function that the actor attended was Lagaan, as it was nominated in the Best Foreign Film category.

Congratulating the award winner Bhagwat said that all the winners are a source of inspiration for the good work they did in their respective fields.
