75 Per cent Metro Rail work completed: KTR
Hyderabad: IT & Industries Minister has said the first phase of Metro Rail will begin soon as 75 per cent of work is completed. The rest of the work is going on at a fast pace and the first phase will be launched as per plan, he said.
Responding to the opposition members’ queries on the city development during a short discussion in the Assembly, the minister said on Tuesday the government was committed to complete the project at the earliest. He said Rs 115.46 crores was being spent for drainage, roads and infrastructure in IT Corridor. KTR criticized the opposition for its comments on illegal structures and stated that Building Tribunal has been set up to address the issue of illegal structures on nalas. So far 938 illegal structures and dilapidated buildings were demolished, he said.
Effluents diversion works are going on at Hussain Sagar and a plan is on the cards to set up water treatment centers along the stretch of Musi River. Claiming that a new plastic road laid at Uppal area is successful with positive results, KTR said that to check traffic problems, 113 junctions are being developed. The government is committed to double bedroom housing scheme and tenders have already been called. – NSS
