42 Crores in Donations For Mission Kakatiya: Harish Rao
Hyderabad: The TRS government’s flagship project Mission Kakatiya is getting huge response from the public, Irrigation Minister Harish Rao has said. The project has so far received 42-crore rupees in donations, which is a major boost, he remarked.
The mission was attracting many people across the world as the workis being taken up in a corruption-free and transparent manner, he added.
Till now, the government has started work in 60,000 lakes and water bodies in 10 districts of Telangana, Rao said. He exuded confidence that the NRIs and rich families would come forward for offering financial support to the project. With donations pouring in, the work will be completed on time to supply irrigation waters to the farmers in villages, he added.
Today, Gland Pharma Chief Technical Officer Raju handed over a check for 50-lakh rupees to Rao as donation at the Ministers Quarters here on Saturday. The Minister revealed that the amount will be spent for Kothapet, Peddacheruvu and Alipur tanks located in Shavampetmandal in Medak district. (NSS)
