2nd CII Partnership Summit, AP Investment Meet to open on Friday in Visakhapatnam
Amaravati: The Government of Andhra Pradesh in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is hosting the 2nd CII Partnership Summit on January 27 and 28 in Visakhapatnam.
The summit serves as an excellent platform for the business community to interact with both government and entrepreneurs to explore investment opportunities in the State.
The summit theme is “Partnerships for sustained growth in an emerging global economic order”. The primary objectives are to define and discuss global development priorities and facilitate policy dialogue. The summit will also provide a common platform to deliberate on solutions contributing to next-level growth.
Andhra Pradesh aims to position itself as a globally competitive investment destination and be recognized as a credible change agent; thus, making it the prime target for potential investors seeking to invest in India.
The CII Partnership Summit, which started in 1995, to mark the centenary of CII, has since become one of the most important international business events in the country. It celebrates the coming together of thought leaders to discuss present opportunities and future challenges.
The 2nd Sunrise Andhra Pradesh Investment Meet along with CII Partnership Summit will be an amalgamation of Inaugural Session followed by 8 Plenary Sessions, Sectoral Round Table Sessions of industry leaders with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The summit and Investment Meet would see a host of topnotch industries’ representatives coming together. Aerospace, defence, electronics, pharmaceuticals biotechnology are some the industries that will have representation at the conference and one-on-one meetings with the Chief Minister, trade ministers from various countries and business tycoons. Also lined up are, TIME India Awards, G2B and B2B meetings, release of two books and AP Exhibition Pavilion.
At the last year’s CII Partnership Summit, Rs 4,67,577 crore worth MoU’s were signed. The total number of committed projects stand at 328 with potential to employ 9,58,896. The conversion rate stands at 48% and the investment conversion rate is 42 per cent.
Of the committed projects, 38 units have gone into production with an investment of Rs.52,987 crores and other six units are into trial production and the investment is Rs 1,519 crores.
Besides, another 16 units got their machinery erected which value around Rs 14,700 crores and in another 29 units civil works have commenced. For another 13 units, valued around Rs 23,754 crores, approvals have been given. Besides this, land has been allotted to eight units, worth Rs 6,611 crores.
For this year’s CII summit, around 425 companies have sent their proposals to invest around 683,107 crores. The summit will be attended by more than 4,000 people.
The meet will see the participation of Union ministers, 12 trade ministers from other countries, and nearly 100 global and Indian CEOs and industry leaders from various sectors including Reliance, Walmart, Aditya Birla, Bharat Forge, Essar, Mitsubishi, Suzlon, Apollo Hospitals, Fortis, Forbes Marshall, to name a few. Delegations from over 50 countries will also participate at the Meet.
Road shows have been successfully executed to promote the 2nd Sunrise Andhra Pradesh Investment Meet. Domestic road shows were conducted in Bangalore and Mumbai, while international road shows were conducted in China, Australia, USA, Switzerland, Germany, Japan and UK.
The Sunrise AP Investment Meet will serve as a platform for MoUs and MoAs to be signed between Government of Andhra Pradesh and investors across sectors such as ndustry, infrastructure, Capital Region, urban development, energy, tourism, ITE & C, education, skill development, etc.
