2000 Trolleys to Poor For Garbage Collection: KCR
HYDERABAD: Mooting plans to produce electricity by using garbage, Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao today said 2,000 auto trolleys will be given to poor children to shift the garbage from various localities to make the city clean.
As part of clean-drive in Parsigutta, Rao toured various adjoining localities of Mettuguda and other places and heard patiently the problems of the denizens. He exhorted the people to get ready for another drive of Harithaharam, the flagship program of the government to plant saplings to prevent pollution and keep the city green.
Stating that Secunderabad needs a surgery for solving many problems, most of them include garbage, stash, storm water, drainage, the chief minister said a plan would be implemented to clean the twin cities. Of 77 nalas in the twin cities, only five were flowing into Hussain Sagar, which would be cleansed, he said, adding the clean-drive would keep the diseases at bay.
“The people should stop throwing garbage on the roads and help sanitation staff to keep the premises clean on regular basis. The GHMC will purchase auto trolleys for collecting garbage from the localities. We are preparing a perfect plan to overcome the problems of piling up garbage at various localities by pressing adequate number of staff”, Rao stated.
Seeking cooperation from the people to play a key role in keeping the premises clean and stopping the spread of diseases, he said the GHMC and HMDA officials would coordinate with others to make the city clean and green. (NSS)
