125 sq yds land regularization soon
HYDERABAD: Poor and those who occupied government lands up to 125 sq yds will get pattas registered in their names as Telangana Government is gearing up for massive regularization drive.

It is likely that the government may take up land regularization program on a grand scale to ensure that the poor people in possession of the government land will become owners. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao held a high level review meeting at Secretariat on Tuesday along with Deputy Chief Minister Mahamood Ali, who also holds Revenue portfolio. The review meeting assumes significance in the wake of the court reportedly asked the concerned department to furnish the details pertaining to land regularization.
According to informed sources, the Chief Minister has directed the officials to expedite the process to give pattas to the families which occupied government land. KCR is learnt to have discussed on GO No 58 pertaining to regularization of 125 sq yards land. It is also said that there was a proposal for issuing an alternate GO replacing the existing 58 to soften the process of giving pattas. The massive regularization program is likely to be taken up soon after the officials come up with comprehensive plan and details to be submitted to the court for its nod, it is learnt.
The CM recently pulled up the district Collectors for tardy pace of works related to regularization. KCR also warned them of offering the job of regularization to other competent officials if they continued to neglect the given works The district Collectors are in a hurry to take up regularization drive, it is said. The Chief Minister is likely to take a final call on the issue very soon. (NSS)
